Sometimes , it’s ok to be sick . It forces you to lie down, keep quiet, observe silence, take care of yourself and see all the old movies you missed.

My eldest sister Felice, a director of nursing education was giving management tips at Chinese Hospital for their upcoming audit. She and her husband used to live on top of San Bruno mountains at Brisbane. The scene up there is picturesque because you can see the landscape of the Bay Area. Now they moved to Rio Vista.
Felice stayed with me and the room available is my attic with tons of clutter that it needs an environmental impact report.
She cleaned up my room, throw old icky stuff and the attic looks better than before. She used my messy attic bedroom since she has to go early to downtown San Francisco as management consultant for the hospital.

Oxymon: A person who needs to have  money to be happy.

Mix words:  Oxygen and money. I give credit to Zig Ziglar. Once, I attended his motivation seminar, he said, “Money doesn’t bring happiness but it’s close to oxygen.”

Well, if you don’t have any oxygen, you might not as well live since it’s essential for a human being’s cells and tissues and brain.  Why oxymon? It’s almost like oxymoron but it isn’t . I remember I’d a student in Computer Literary and I told them to write about the meaning of Christmas in their word processing exercises. Rick wrote, “Christmas is expensive.”  Commercialism abounds during Christmas and the Holidays. We forget it’s
Christ Mass, a celebration of God’s love who transformed himself to be human to save man from his original sin. It’s a spiritual celebration not a material one.

My quote: Money can’t bring happiness but it can solve a lot of unhappiness that a lack of money brings.

Concocted Word of the Day

Huntabwin : noun – a group of people in a table who are all winners in a drawing or a lottery.

Mix words: Hundred percent, table and winners , huntab win.

Yesterday was our Christmas party. Present in the table were Dan, Dong, Elsa and myself . Each one of us won prizes during the raffles. Jokingly, I predicted that all of us at the table will win a prize in the Christmas raffle before the drawing. The host said that they will start with the big prize first. I heard my name called and I received a big box. Inside was a “Back Massage Cushion With Vibration Action.” Yay, one wish come true. There were about 20 prizes, mostly gift certificates worth $10 for restaurants and movie stores. Then we heard Elsa’s name called , then Dan’s and later Dong’s . John, a colleague when he saw our table sat in a space empty seat but it was too late. He should have sat before the drawing began.

David said in a joking manner, “It was fixed.” But they were shaking the jar where the tickets were and they called several people to pull the names in front of everybody.

They said that’s a strange odd that all people in one table were all winners. We had four out of four that’s why it’s a huntabwin.

The magician called me to participate with the card tricks. I had to select three cards and show them to the audience. Then with a mask, he had to catch those cards with a sword when I throw the cards into the air. I was near the magician. The cards were caught alright but I saw the cards coming out of the sword’s handle. But the party was fun.

Origin: From the word cool and the Pinoy word ‘pogi’  or goodlooking. Originally pogi came from the Spanish word ‘guapo’ or handsome. Reversing guapo resulted into ‘pogi’.

Samples of kulpogs are Tom Brady & Joe Montana.

San Mateo County is proud of its local boy Tom Brady for being the Sport’s Illustrated Sportsman of the year 2005 . Not only he’s talented but also he has a good heart inside. He donated his MVP car for a fund-raising drive at his local high school Serra High.
The one time ‘noname, underpaid,unknown,underrated,overlooked’ QB who ranked at bottom of draft picks said in an ESPN interview that a talent scout gave him a ‘5’ on  a scale from  one to ten with a note “he will never become a legitimate NFL player.”
Wow, did he proved them wrong.

When Tom was three, he witnessed his idol Joe Montana throw to Dwight Clark, “The Catch” at Candlestick Park. Imagine years later, he is now at Montana’s level. Back in 1990, the SI Sportsman of Year  representing football  was  49’er  Quarterback  Joe ‘Cool’ Montana.
Joe cool was a San Mateo county resident at Atherton, just a few miles away from Brady’s San Mateo.

Concocted Word: Seebolbol - Balls that are only meant for seeing but not for touching or playing in sports.

Christmas time has multicolored balls and trees. There's a question floating around.
What do priests and Christmas trees have in common?
Sakeena, a Moslem answered, "Both have points but they are both dead." She said that should be the case but the scandals prove otherwise. There many good Catholic priests out there, it's only a tiny percentage of them. Scandals were present from 12th to 16th century, one of the reasons why Martin Luther protested.

Answer: Their balls are only for decorations.

The question is just for laughs. Hope I don't have to do penance in confession.

Creating New Words

My blog will be on using both my left brain(the Scientist) and my right brain(the Artist) and my middle brain (Useless and Creative Portion). I'll be blogging both on the arts or science side. Or things that people don't notice. Like people don't notice how many steps are there going down or going up the BART station, Bay Area Rapid Transportation. Do you how many stairs are there?
Really.

If I can login everyday, I'll try to create a new word with a meaning that's never existed before.
Whether it's acceptable by the dictionary standards is not the point, I like to do calligraphy and the practice is to do a letter over and over again..

my new word for today is Kallilloko - noun- meaning to practice a letter over and over again.verb is to Kallilokize - to create new letters from my kalliloko exercises.Today is December 8 - Holy day for Immaculate Conception. Totus tuus ego sum.
This is indeed a day to create something new
